Tickets on general sale @ 9am on Thursday 12th January

Over the last few seasons we have seen some truly incredible talent come aboard The Island LIVE and this series alone we’ve witnessed multiple sold out shows and sublime sets from Alison Wonderland, What So Not, Hayden James, Cosmo’s Midnight, Hot Dub Time Machine, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Nina Las Vegas and Yahtzel on Sydney Harbour.

Our penultimate party for the series takes place on Friday 10th February as we welcome Norman Jay MBE - one of the most significant and influential artists to the global music community for a special 2- hour set. Inspiring generations of artists Norman Jay is unquestionably one of the most respected DJs in the world today.

Co-founder of the legendary Good Times Sound System and renowned London dance music station KISS FM, Norman Jay helped birth the ‘Rare Groove’ movement, pushing the boundaries of the UK’s club culture. Packing clubs wherever he played Jay became one of the most popular DJs in the world, bringing the underground sounds of rare groove and house straight into the mainstream. After being awarded an MBE for services to DJing and music he compiled his most eclectic compilation to date, ‘Good Times Skank & Boogie’ taking his legendary Good Times party to selected venues across the UK. His world famous Notting Hill Carnival parties remain the stuff of legend, and it’s our sincerest honour and privilege to host one of the all-time greats at The Island LIVE.

To accompany the master, we have three of Sydney’s funkiest selectors of house, disco, soul and boogie in the shape of Soul of Sydney DJs, Mike Who and Andy Garvey. The independent, grassroots Soul of Sydney collective have been supporting the scene for many years, throwing down the good stuff across warehouse spaces, rooftops, laneways and block parties. Mike Who is one of the countries most diverse and intuitive players, having warmed the stage for J Rocc, Bonobo, Peanut

Butter Wolf, Cut Chemist & DJ Shadow to name a few. His 4-year weekly residency with ‘Stolen Records’ on FBi Radio was an essential listen! Andy Garvey is part of the nu-breed, with her finger firmly on the pulse of local and international dance music and a fave for the likes of Future Classic and Astral People. Be sure to check out her own weekly FBi Radio show ‘Pure Space’.

It’s not every day you get to experience an artist like Norman Jay MBE on an intimate floating pontoon as the sun sets in the middle of iconic Sydney Harbour now is it? Rest assured, with tickets selling out across the board for all previous Island LIVE events this series, we strongly advise you to jump on board (pun intended) ASAP to avoid disappointment!

As the great man says himself you’re “guaranteed nothing but the ‘Good Times’ ”.
